P.R.I.D.E. Scholarship Application deadline extended to 5:00pm Wednesday, June 5th, 2013
The Housing Authority's service to Santa Clara County extends beyond the housing we build and the Housing Choice Vouchers we administer. The Housing Authority is committed to helping low income families become self-sufficient and independent of government aid.
In 1994, in response to a growing gap of resources, the Housing Authority established a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization called Program Responsible in Daring Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.) in order to raise funds for programs and activities that promote self-sufficiency.
P.R.I.D.E. has been used to fund:
• Scholarship grants (approximately $170,000 to date);
• Incentive activities and awards for families achieving self-sufficiency goals;
• Services for seniors.
How You Can Help
This is the 19th year of the P.R.I.D.E Scholarship Program. Please consider making a tax deductible donation to this important resource. Funding for education is limited and our students could use a "hand up" in paying for books, tuition and other fees. Applications seeking funding have been submitted for the upcoming school year (Fall 2011) and we need your help to ensure as many worthy students as possible can be helped. All students reside in subsidized housing and appreciate the assistance. Our awards range from $250. to $1500, but any donation is gratefully accepted. Please send a check to the address below.
