Description: The development of Pinmore Gardens required a sophisticated land assembly effort to convert the underutilized site previously owned by multiple public sector owners, including the California Transportation Department and the Santa Clara County Traffic Authority.  The conversion of the site resulted in a new and more serviceable subdivision map for the area.

Description: Coordinating its effort with the City of San Jose, local businesses and community organizations, the Housing Authority implemented a revitalization effort that collectively took on the fight to end crime, gang activity and slum housing conditions at Poco Way.  The two-year effort included major physical rehabilitation, new construction, critical community work by Project Crackdown, a drug and gang prevention program, and the establishment of a neighborhood service center at Poco Way.

Description: The Housing Authority was asked by HUD to take over Villa Garcia, a HUD-financed development that was fast deteriorating due to mismanagement and deferred maintenance. Description: Prior to rehabilitation, Villa San Pedro had numerous legal and financial problems and was well-known as a housing eyesore in the area. The Housing Authority acquired the 100-unit property through a bankruptcy sale and conducted substantial rehabilitation, including the addition of a community building that features a Head Start facility. Villa San Pedro was a bold start for the Housing Authority's venture into preserving and upgrading affordable housing, and was soon followed by the more substantial and challenging Poco Way revitalization project in East San Jose.
