Fundraising
The
Housing Authority's service to Santa Clara County extends beyond the housing we
build and the Section 8 contracts we administer. The Housing Authority is
committed to helping low income families become self-sufficient and independent
of government aid.
In 1994, in response to a growing
gap of resources, the Housing
Authority established a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization called Program
Responsible in Daring Excellence (P.R.I.D.E.) in order to raise funds for
programs and activities that promote self-sufficiency.
P.R.I.D.E. funds have been used to
fund:
 |
Scholarship grants (approximately
$150,000 to date);
|
 |
Incentive activities and awards
for families achieving self-sufficiency goals;
|
 |
Related activities for programs
focusing on self-sufficiency; and
|
 |
Services for the elderly.
