TENANT-BASED VOUCHER SUBSIDY

Tenant-based voucher subsidies provide assistance for eligible tenants which they can use in privately owned units or in some housing authority-owned units.  The subsidy is tied to the family so if the family moves from one unit to another, the subsidy moves as well.  Subsidized families can also exercise a portability feature that allow them to move to another city, county or state and use their subsidy under the administration of another housing authority.
