Voucher Wait List

The Section 8 Waiting List is now CLOSED.

If you submitted a Section 8 Waiting List registration during the week of April 24-28, 2006, please note the following:

►  Placing your name on the Waiting List does not give you any rights to be admitted to the program, guarantee your future eligibility or assure that subsidy funds will be available.

►  Your name will be placed on the Waiting List in an order determined by computerized random selection, and not by date and time of receipt of registration.

►  The Housing Authority sent notification of your placement on the Waiting List during the last week of September 2006.  If you have not received your placement letter, please contact the Customer Service Unit at (408) 275-8770 for further assistance.

►  Your position number was randomly selected by a computer program and cannot be changed.  Your position number is the order in which you will be selected for assistance form the Waiting List.

►  The Housing Authority does not have preferences for disabled, elderly or homeless registrants or persons in a crisis housing situation.  Therefore, there is no opportunity for you to be assisted ahead of your position on the Waiting List.  If you are in need of emergency housing assistance, please refer to the following websites for a list of homeless shelters and affordable, subsidized apartments in Santa Clara County: www.sjhousing.org and www.housingscc.org

►  If you are on the Waiting List, you must notify the Housing Authority in writing of any changes of your address.  Click here to download and print the Change of Information form.  All correspondence must include your Social Security number.  Your name will be removed from the Waiting List if you do not respond to a scheduled appointment or requests for information.

IF YOUR MAILING ADDRESS CHANGES...  It is very important that you notify the Housing Authority in writing of all changes in your address and family composition.  If you do not notify the Housing Authority of changes, the Housing Authority is not responsible for your failure to receive mail regarding your status on the wait list.  The Housing Authority does not accept responsibility for mail delays or forwarding orders.

If you have a change of information, please print out, complete and send the Change of Information Form below.  This is a Change of Information Form ONLY for families CURRENTLY on the Section 8 Waiting List.  Do NOT fill out this form unless you are already on the Waiting List.  Your form will be THROWN AWAY if you are not already on the Waiting List.

We have completed processing of all persons registered on the previous Section 8 Waiting List from 1999.  If you registered on that list but have not been contacted, please call (408) 275-8770.
